Το νηολόγιο της Δημοκρατία των Νήσων Μάρσαλ (RMI) ανακοίνωσε κατά την διάρκεια της διεθνούς έκθεσης κρουαζιέρας στο Μαϊάμι, την ταυτότητα ναυτικού.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry announced the launch of its seafarer identification (ID) card during the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reception at Cruise Shipping Miami (CSM). The RMI Maritime Administrator presented and discussed the launch of its Officer Certificates (OCs), Seafarers’ Identity and Record Books (SIRBs) and seafarer ID cards with a QR code during CSM 2013. The production of OCs and SIRBs with the QR code started in August 2013 and then in January 2014 the RMI Registry began issuing the seafarer ID card. The Ft. Lauderdale office is equipped to serve the cruise industry in issuing these documents to seafarers on RMI flagged vessels.

One of the key benefits of the seafarer ID card is that it enables seafarers to carry their credentials with them at all times (shore side and at sea). While the RMI Maritime Administrator’s website already provides for OC and SIRB verification, the scanning of the QR code provides additional verification information including a photo of the seafarer, OC limitations and any special qualifications.

The RMI has been included on the United States Coast Guard Qualship 21 roster for nine consecutive years, which is unparalleled, and continues to be included on the white lists of both the Paris and Tokyo Memorandums of Understanding. “While reaching 100 million gross tons is truly a milestone for the Registry, we will not rest on our past successes. We will continue to innovate and be proactive in our pursuit of excellence,” he concluded.
