The RINA Seminar organized during the exhibition in the Conference Hall attracted great attention of over 200 participants. This year had the title “Environmental update: Could compliance with the regulations be cost effective?” and was held on Wednesday the 4th.

The presentations were delivered by Mr. Paolo Moretti, RINA General Manager for Marine Business Solutions and his Deputy and responsible for Marine Innovation, Mr. Andrea Cogliolo. The event was moderated by Mr. Andreas Papalimneos, Manager of Piraeus Training Center.

The panel gave an overview of regulations relevant to the environmental protection with a special focus on fuel efficiency/air emissions reduction measures and LNG fuelled ships, an area where RINA has a great expertise to offer.

As expected, the Q&A time was very active with lots of interesting topics discussed.

On the same day just after the seminar, RINA hosted a cocktail at its elegant stand and apart of the seminar participants, many other guests joined, some of them among the most prominent personalities of Greek and International Shipping.

Among others, two agreements were celebrated during the cocktail.

One was the signature of an agreement with a well-known Cypriot based ship management Company, Oesterreichischer Lloyd, Seereederei (Cyprus) Ltd., that characterizes the commitment of RINA to increase its presence in this important area.

The second was a Letter of Intent relevant to the cooperation with the TMS Company based in Oman that would better support RINA development in this area of the Middle East.

The atmosphere remained cheerful until almost the closing time of the exhibition and the feeling of RINA’s ever stronger position in Greece as an international recognized Group was once more confirmed.
