The American Club: It has more strong presence in Greece and abroad

The American P&I Club presented its progress through an event entitled “Market Presentation & Reception” at the Marine Club of Piraeus. Maritimes.gr was there and took interviews from its people.

Dorothea Ioannou C.E.O. – E.V.P., of the American Club regarding its presentation pointed out, “Despite the difficulties of our epoch (pandemic, war etc) we have increased both the capacity level of our members (by 40%), and at the premium level (by 50%) and we are on the right track .” Regarding the upcoming environmental regulations in shipping, she emphasized that the American Club, like all clubs, should support them and promote the safety part.

When he asked about the geopolitical developments and how they affect shipping, Daniel A. Tadros, J.D., Chief Operating Officer – E.V.P.., American Club said that of course they have also affected the shipping industry, as it needs to understand the new directives and the economic changes.

Joseph E.M. Hughes, Chairman, American Club emphasized the timeless value of the American Club and he is confident that with the new team the Club will become even stronger.

George Gourdomichalis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Club emphasized that “It is important to realize that the Club is doing extremely well compared to the past and our new financial strategy will highlight new aspects in the future, always focusing on the small and medium family Shipping companies.”

Ioanna Koukoulis, LL.M., Co-Global Claims & Managing Director at SCB (Hellas) Inc. referred to the Greek office saying that “We are very proud that our office is growing more and more and has been enriched by different departments and we are expanding even more”.
