Inauguration event for the Propeller Club, Port of Limassol

On Thursday, May 16th, President Costis Frangoulis, in his capacity as First Vice-President of the International Propeller Club of the United States, attended the inauguration event for the Propeller Club, Port of Limassol.

Greetings were addressed by the General Secretary of the new chapter, Loukas Barbaris, the President, Polys Hajioannou, the US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, as well as Costis Frangoulis, representing IPCUS.

As is customary, Costis Frangoulis, on behalf of the International Propeller, handed over the Club’s Charter to Polys Hajioannou, formally welcoming Limassol to the global network.

He then presented Mr. Hajioannou with the president’s pin and offered him a gift from the Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus, specially made by the renowned Greek artist, Caroline Rovithi. The gift depicts the flags of Cyprus and America, symbolizing the role that the new Club will play in the promotion of the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations in shipping.

The event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Limassol and was attended by 200 Members and guests, including the Executive Vice-President of the International Propeller Club, Joel Whitehead, the Regional Vice-President for Southern Europe and Africa, Akis Tsirigakis, Treasurer Maria Hajioannou and Governor Katerina Stathopoulou from the Piraeus chapter.
