On 23 April, we launch a special report about China’s energy transition as part of our Energy Transition Outlook series.

Get the highlights and join the discussions with experts in the Chinese energy transition

As the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases China’s success or failure in transitioning to clean energy directly impacts our chances of keeping global warming below 2ºC.

In our unique forecast about China’s energy transition towards 2050, we predict that China will further strengthen its position as the world’s largest player in renewable technologies and that it will undergo a massive transformation of its energy system. However, China will also continue to rely heavily on fossil fuels and will also need to maneuver energy security concerns.
