Αυτό επεσήμαναν χθες πηγές της διοίκησης του ΔΕΣΦΑ, ενώ αναφορικά με τις δραστηριότητες του διαχειριστή στο Κουβέιτ πρόσθεταν ότι συνεχίζονται κανονικά, καθώς δεν έχει διακοπεί η λειτουργία του τερματικού σταθμού υγροποιημένου φυσικού αερίου (LNG) στη χώρα. Ωστόσο είναι καθημερινή η επαφή με τους εργαζόμενους εκεί, με τις αρμόδιες αρχές και με την ελληνική πρεσβεία. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο ΔΕΣΦΑ έχει αναλάβει την παροχή υπηρεσιών λειτουργίας και συντήρησης του σταθμού στη χώρα, που είναι ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους σταθμούς αποθήκευσης και επαναεριοποίησης LNG στον κόσμο.

Αναφορικά με τις εξελίξεις σε σχέση με τον κάθετο διάδρομο εφοδιασμού της Ανατολικής Ευρώπης με φυσικό αέριο μέσω Ελλάδας, οι ίδιες πηγές ανέφεραν ότι αποτελεί μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα προοπτική τόσο για τη χώρα, όσο και για τον διαχειριστή. «Αποτελεί», τόνιζαν, «ευκαιρία για εξαγωγές και για να υποστηρίξουμε το στόχο υποκατάστασης του ρωσικού αερίου, αξιοποιώντας τη γεωγραφική θέση της χώρας που αποτελεί πύλη εισόδου για την Ανατολική Ευρώπη».

Πρόσθεταν ωστόσο ότι θα χρειαστεί χρόνος, προκειμένου να γίνουν οι απαιτούμενες προσαρμογές από τους αντίστοιχους διαχειριστές των συστημάτων φυσικού αερίου στις χώρες της περιοχής, μέχρι την Ουκρανία, σε συμμόρφωση με τις προβλέψεις της ευρωπαϊκής νομοθεσίας. Οι προσαρμογές αυτές θα γίνουν σταδιακά, με στόχο η συγκεκριμένη όδευση να γίνει πιο ανταγωνιστική για τους χρήστες του διαδρόμου. Σε κάθε περίπτωση εφόσον η διακοπή εφοδιασμού της ΕΕ με ρωσικό αέριο αποτελεί κοινό στόχο τόσο της ΕΕ όσο και των ΗΠΑ, η υλοποίηση του στόχου προϋποθέτει την αξιοποίηση όλων των διαθέσιμων οδών εφοδιασμού των χωρών της περιοχής καθώς η δυναμικότητα των αγωγών από βορρά (Γερμανία, Πολωνία) δεν επαρκεί για την κάλυψη της ζήτησης.

Οι ίδιες πηγές ανέφεραν ότι ανάλογα με τις εξελίξεις στην αγορά της ευρύτερης περιοχής της ΝΑ Ευρώπης, ενδεχομένως να χρειαστούν άλλο ένα ή δύο τερματικά υγροποιημένου φυσικού αερίου στην Ελλάδα, πέρα από τα δύο που ήδη λειτουργούν στη Ρεβυθούσα και την Αλεξανδρούπολη. Όπως είπαν, ο διαχειριστής θα συνεργαστεί με κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο επενδυτή.

Τέλος, για την πράσινη μετάβαση η εκτίμηση του ΔΕΣΦΑ είναι ότι δεν θα υλοποιηθεί από τη μια μέρα στην άλλη, αλλά σταδιακά. «Το μείγμα θα αλλάζει σταδιακά, καθώς η ζήτηση για ηλεκτρική ενέργεια αυξάνεται λόγω της ψηφιοποίησης. Δεν μπορούμε να ικανοποιήσουμε τη ζήτηση από μια μόνο πηγή, το αέριο θα είναι παρόν για μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα».
