So why the huge interest in this conference?

Successfully completed the16th Marine Money Greek Ship Finance Forum, held on 15 October 2014 at Athens Ledra Hotel.

Liquidity is back but we are not yet out of the woods. Wedid not hear exciting news about the shipping market sectors. We heard that not much fresh private equity is entering the industry and with the equity markets in turmoil this past month, there is not much optimism there either currently. So why the huge interest in this conference? With over 370 participants in the audience during the day, 80 more than last year, it was our second best attendance ever in Athens. Our shipowner panels drew enormous interest with delegates standing down the side of the room. There was a buzzduring the coffee breaks, the lunch party, the Closing Cocktail and to long after midnight at the Capital Party. People were happy and enthusiastic. It is not only the market that determines the spirit of Greek shipowners and all those involved in the shipping industry.
