SEA Europe welcomes the launch of the EU Industrial Maritime Value Chains Alliance
The Shipyards and Maritime Equipment Association of Europe (SEA Europe) welcomes the launch of the EU Industrial Maritime Value Chains Alliance by the European Commission, delivering on a key commitment of the recently adopted EU Industrial Maritime Strategy.
The European Commission announced the Alliance yesterday during a workshop organised by SEA Europe at SMM Hamburg, where maritime industry stakeholders and policymakers discussed the implementation of the EU Industrial Maritime Strategy. Its creation responds to a longstanding demand from SEA Europe for stronger cooperation across Europe’s maritime manufacturing ecosystem.
The Alliance will provide an important platform to bring together stakeholders across the maritime cluster, identify concrete business cases for maritime manufacturing, and build partnerships and investment pipelines to strengthen Europe’s industrial competitiveness.
Christophe Tytgat, Secretary General of SEA Europe, said: “We welcome the launch of the EU Industrial Maritime Value Chains Alliance, which SEA Europe has long advocated for. The Alliance can help turn the Industrial Maritime Strategy into concrete industrial action by bringing the maritime cluster together, identifying business opportunities and mobilising investment. We now look forward to working with the Commission and industry partners to make this initiative deliver tangible results for Europe’s maritime manufacturing sector.”
