Piraeus Port Authority Provides Practical Support to the Municipality of Salamina for the Restoration of Recent Wildfire Affected Areas
01 September 2026. Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) responded promptly to a request from the Municipality of Salamina for assistance with restoration efforts in areas affected by the recent wildfires on the island, covering the cost of an excavator to support the collection and removal of fire-damaged materials.
This initiative forms part of PPA S.A.’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and solidarity with local communities and areas affected by natural disasters. Through its immediate mobilization and by covering the operational cost of the necessary machinery and its operator, PPA S.A. is contributing to the Municipality’s efforts to accelerate restoration and ensure the safe management of the aftermath of the wildfire.
As part of this cooperation, PPA representatives visited the affected areas and the sites where restoration works are being carried out to gain a first-hand understanding of the extent of the damage and the needs that have arisen. The presence of PPA representatives on site confirmed the need for immediate support for the Municipality’s operational efforts and contributed to the effective coordination of the assistance provided.
