ERMA FIRST: The Greek international company

Fast growing ballast water equipment manufacturer ERMA FIRST (EF), has acquired another company and specifically the American “oneTank”. It is the second acquisition of EF, as the last month acquired the German RWO.

Especially, oneTank is a simple, low-cost ballast water treatment system. Developed for the tanker and bulker aftpeak tank, perfect for workboats with severe power limitations.

Erma First’s Business Development Manager, Eleni Polychronopoulou, talking to MaritimesTV, regarding the reasons of the acquisition, said that “The global trend is on the one hand the growth of the company internally with new products, with innovation, with research and development and on the other hand with acquisitions and mergers”.

Mr. Konstantinos Stampedakis, Erma First’s Managing Director, noticed that “We imitated the Greek shipowners and acted like them. More specifically despite the storm, we continued our journey, intsead of stopping it. For this reason, despite the pandemic, we managed to acquire one more company, so as to offer various technologies for more ships”.
