Consistent Progress: Chalkis Shipyards AE Secures Carbon Footprint Verification for the 2nd Consecutive Year

02.11.2026

Reaffirming its long-term commitment to sustainable ship repair solutions, Chalkis Shipyards AE is proud to announce the successful submission of its Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report and the receipt of the Verification Statement from the international certification body Bureau Veritas (BV) for the second consecutive year.

Having paved the way as the first shipyard in Greece to undergo this rigorous process, we continue to consistently map and monitor our environmental footprint. The greenhouse gas inventory and quantification were conducted in strict accordance with the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard, while the data verification by Bureau Veritas was performed per ISO 14064- 3:2019, ensuring maximum accuracy, transparency, and reliability.

This second annual verification is more than just a milestone; it provides us with the essential historical data to evaluate our progress, benchmark our performance, and implement even more targeted emission reduction strategies across all operations.

As the global maritime and shipbuilding industries accelerate their transition toward decarbonization, Chalkis Shipyards AE proves in practice that sustainability is not a one-time effort, but a continuous journey toward a greener and more responsible future.
