American P&I Club Piraeus Market Presentation & Reception
“Global Service, local touch. Your ship is our priority” was the theme of the presentation of the American P&I Club that was presented at The Piraeus Marine Club in Athens on Thursday 4 December. The event was opened by Joanna Koukouli, LL.M. Co-Global Claims & Managing Director of the American P&I Club and was attended by its friends and members. She specifically emphasized that “The goals of the American P&I Club remain clear and are none other than to provide transparency, stability and excellent services without risks”. At the same time, Dorothea Ioannou, Chief Executive Officer – E.V.P. of the American Club, noted, among other things, that “After the coronavirus, we took drastic measures and adapted to new realities. More specifically, through a dynamic and targeted process for better results and with new systems, we renewed and expanded the fleet we manage”. As she added, in 2025 and beyond, the American P&I Club has been and will continue to be characterized by steady positive growth, with a significant voice in the industry, dedication, provision of solutions, accessibility, flexibility, transparency and collaboration with all its members. From his part, Daniel A. Tadros, J.D. Chief Operating Officer – E.V.P. of the American Club, referred to the dedication of the team and how it managed critical issues faced by ships, such as the tugboats “Aigaio Pelagos” & “Panormitis” that assisted the tanker “Sounion” which was on fire after an attack and causing an environmental disaster. At the end, Pavlos Xiradakis, President of the Hellenic Shipowners’ Association of Tugs expressed his appreciation and thanks for the honor bestowed upon him by the American P&I Club.
