PETER MELLETTMr. Mellet is a Managing Director of BankServe Insurance Services and has been involved in marine insurance and a broker for 43 years, with experience in all types of claims work. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, has lectured on marine underwriting and for three years was the senior claims examiner for the Chartered Insurance Institute.Since 1996 Peter has specialised in acting for ship finance institutions with particular emphasis on arranging contingent insurance protecting for Mortgagees and advising with disputed claims under owners’ policies and has been involved in over 90 Mortgagees Interest Insurance claims during that time, having collected the largest Mortgagees Interest Insurance claim that has been made. SAIF ALMOBIDEENMr. Almobideen is a Senior associate in the Global Maritime and International Trade team at Stephenson Harwood LLP, based in the Dubai office, where he routinely acts on shipping and insurance matters in the Middle East. He has a deep understanding of the shipping sector (10 years of experience in managing complex and technical shipping disputes in the region) and holds a Master degree in International Maritime Law from Swansea University.Saif has a broad client base consisting of leading regional and international “household names” covering a wide-range of clients within the sector, including, protection and indemnity clubs, shipyards, shipping lines, ship owners, shipping agencies, and global asset management firms.Saif is routinely retained to advise and assist in the enforcement of maritime debts and marine mortgages in the United Arab Emirates, investigating and attending to marine incidents within the Middle East region, as well as assisting and advising clients in issues arising under the Maritime Labour Convention. He is also routinely asked to be a speaker in his field, which stems from years of experience in delivering client training and being a “go-to” in delivering legal training to others in the industry.
