PPA S.A., driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and a tangible human-centered approach, welcomed the historic sailing ship \u201cNave Italia\u201d to the Port of Piraeus on June 18th, which remained berthed at the Cruise Terminal until the end of the week. During its stay, the ship hosted children and young people experiencing mental and emotional challenges, offering them a unique therapeutic and educational experience on board.<\/p>\n

It is noted that on Wednesday, June 18th, the vessel was visited by the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Greece, underscoring the emblematic significance of the “Nave Italia” mission and honoring Greek-Italian cooperation in the field of social solidarity.<\/p>\n
\u201cNave Italia\u201d is a brig-rigged sailing ship, 61 meters in length with a sail area of 1,300 square meters, and it is considered the largest vessel of its kind in the world. Since 2007, it has been part of the Italian Navy fleet and is operated by the non-profit Foundation \u201cTender to Nave Italia\u201d, established by the Italian Navy and the Yacht Club Italiano. The vessel can accommodate up to 22 guests in addition to the crew and serves as a unique setting for the implementation of research, educational, training, and therapeutic programs.<\/p>\n
Specifically, the ship’s crew, in collaboration with the Foundation\u2019s specialized scientific and pedagogical team, implements innovative adventure therapy programs designed to enhance self-esteem, team spirit and the psychological empowerment of children and young people facing psychosocial challenges.<\/p>\n
