LONDON, 09\u00a0April 2025\u00a0\u2013 The Mission to Seafarers, a leading seafarers welfare charity, is now accepting nominations for its prestigious International Seafarers Awards 2025.<\/p>\n
Taking place on Friday, 31st October 2025, and now in its eighth year, the annual awards\u00a0has established itself as a highlight of the Singapore maritime calendar, celebrating individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to enhancing the welfare and wellbeing of seafarers globally. The closing deadline for nominations is 7th July 2025.<\/p>\n
The Awards Ceremony serves as a testament to the industry’s commitment to seafarer welfare, bringing together maritime professionals from around the globe for a glittering gala dinner. \u00a0Held at the illustrious Fairmont Singapore Hotel, it gives the industry an opportunity to celebrate the backbone of the industry – seafarers. The event promises an evening celebration and networking as we honour the invaluable efforts of seafarers, shore-based staff, and shipping companies who champion crew welfare.<\/p>\n
Jan Webber<\/strong>, Director of Development at The Mission to Seafarers, emphasises the significance of recognising initiatives dedicated to making a significant difference to seafarers\u2019 welfare, commenting: \u201cOur Seafarers Awards provide a unique opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable achievements and efforts of those who dedicate their work to supporting seafarers and the critical work they do. \n\u2022 Cadet Award \u2013The Cadet or Trainee who has made a significant contribution to seafarers\u2019 welfare at sea or ashore.
\n\u2022 Innovation Award \u2013 The company that has embraced a new programme, project, or training which has enhanced seafarers\u2019 welfare.
\n\u2022 Rescue Award – The Captain or Crew who has coordinated a successful rescue operation to save lives at sea.
\n\u2022 Secretary General Award \u2013 The person or company who has shown sustained efforts to improve seafarers\u2019 welfare at sea or ashore.<\/p>\n
\nThe Mission to Seafarers provides help and support to the 1.89 million men and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat. The Mission works in over 200 ports in 50 countries caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs. Through its global network of chaplains, staff and volunteers, the Mission offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers through ship visits, drop-in seafarers’ centres and a range of welfare and emergency support services.<\/em><\/p>\n
