The Management of PPA S.A. welcomed the MSC Sinfonia to the port of Piraeus for 2025, hosting a special event where PPA\u2019s DCEO, Cpt. Jin Beiyuan, exchanged commemorative plaques with the ship\u2019s captain, Mr. Giuseppe Cazzano. The MSC Sinfonia, with a capacity of 2,646 passengers, and 274.9 meters in length and 13 decks, is expected to make 52 arrivals in Piraeus by the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>MSC Cruises, which operates primarily\u00a0embarkation cruises throughout the year, is expected to approach the port 110 times in 2025 with its ships \u2013 including MSC Sinfonia, MSC Fantasia, MSC Armonia, and luxury vessel Explora I, marking a significant increase in arrivals from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that the upward trend of homeporting cruises continues in the new year at the port of Piraeus, with 2025 bookings expected to surpass the record of 1 million homeporting passengers achieved in 2024. Based on the above data, Piraeus is one of the top three largest Mediterranean Homeports.<\/p>\n<p>The rise of homeporting brings substantial benefits in the local and national economy, boosting job creation and increasing revenues for local businesses in tourism, catering, supplies, and ship repairs.<\/p>\n<p><em>About PPA S.A.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Piraeus Port Authority SA is an Athens Stock Exchange listed company engaged in the management and operation of Piraeus port, Greece\u2019s largest port and one of the largest integrated harbours in Europe, providing a complete range of services.
