{"id":251111,"date":"2024-12-10T15:59:56","date_gmt":"2024-12-10T13:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maritimes.gr\/?p=251111"},"modified":"2024-12-10T16:01:00","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T14:01:00","slug":"sapura-energy-completes-somv-divestment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritimes.gr\/en\/sapura-energy-completes-somv-divestment\/","title":{"rendered":"Sapura Energy completes SOMV divestment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sapura Energy Berhad (\u201cSapura Energy\u201d or \u201cthe Company\u201d) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sapura Upstream Assets Sdn Bhd (\u201cSUA\u201d), has completed the sale of its 50 percent equity interest in SapuraOMV Upstream Sdn Bhd (\u201cSapuraOMV\u201d or \u201cSOMV\u201d) to TotalEnergy Holdings SAS (\u201cTotalEnergies\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The completion of this divestment marks a key milestone in the Company\u2019s broader Reset plan for the long-term sustainable and viable future of Sapura Energy Group.<\/p>\n<p>SapuraOMV\u2019s assets include a 40 percent operated interest in block SK408 and a 30 percent operated interest in block SK310, both situated offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The Jerun gas field, located within the SK408 block, achieved its first gas on 1 July 2024 ahead of schedule and within budget, with 12.8 million safe manhours. SapuraOMV also holds exploration licenses across strategic regions, including Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>This strategic initiative underscores our commitment to Sapura Energy\u2019s long-term Reset and debt restructuring plan; this divestment streamlines our portfolio and enables us to focus on our core capabilities, namely to deliver safe and innovative solutions to the energy industry,<\/em>\u201d said <strong>Sapura Energy Interim Chairman Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Sapura Energy Berhad<\/strong> is a global integrated energy services and solutions provider operating across the entire upstream value chain, including renewables.
