IG Cycling\u2019s THERMO2024 will see over 100 cyclists taking part in an endurance race to raise funds for important charities ahead of Posidonia shipping event.<\/p>\n
Athens, Greece \u2013 Thursday, March 14: Interunity Group, a leading maritime services provider, has launched the first iteration of IG Cycling – THERMO2024, a new sporting challenge held across the Southern Pindos mountain range, Greece on June 1. The ride will raise important and much needed funds for its primary charity Elpida, as well as the Common Seas charity, ahead of the prestigious shipping event, Posidonia 2024.<\/p>\n
More than 100 riders will take part in the challenging touring race over courses of 80km or 160km, reaching summits of around 1400 meters, and with over 4,000 metres of climbing on the full route. The race will start and end in the village of Thermo, three hours from Athens.<\/p>\n
The event was created in order to raise funds for two charities close to the hearts of the Interunity Group team: Elpida and Common Seas. The event\u2019s primary charity, The Elpida Association of friends of children with cancer, was founded in 1990 by a group of dynamic women to develop a framework of treatment and support for children suffering with cancer, as well as their families.<\/p>\n
Common Seas works with partners across government, business and civil society to develop and deliver solutions that tackle the plastic pollution and improve ocean sustainability.<\/p>\n
Dimitris Nikolakis<\/strong>, of Interunity Group, a founder of IG Cycling, helped turn\u00a0the race from an idea into a reality.
