Young officers must be conscious and have a high level of training and knowledge, in order to deal with the strict requirements of their jobs, said Capt. Tsoukaris Efstratios, Crew Manager, S. LIVANOS – HELLAS, talking to maritimesTV, in the context of the event for the first graduates of the GMC Naval Academy. Regarding graduates from private academies, he pointed out that usually they are more self-aware and remain for a long time in their positions, which is very important for a shipping company. Also, Capt. Athanasios N. Apostolopoulos, Manning Manager, SPRINGFIELD SHIPPING CO PANAMA SA., added that the human factor in the ship is quite important. and he noted that officers must be fully trained with soft skills and technical skills too.<\/p>\n

Nikolaos Andreadis, Corporate Psychologist, Ph.D., Maritime HR \/ HF Protocols Manager, Alpha Marine Consulting P.C. talked about the culture of a shipping company, the skills and the abilities of sailors and the importance of human factor. Apart from that, he referred to the collaboration with the GMC Naval Academy, noting that they share the same high values and the same vision. <\/p>\n

The advantages of the GMC Naval Academy through the cooperation with the state Finnish Naval Academy Aboa were mentioned by Per- Olof Karisson Aboa\u2019s Mare Director and Jaana Oikarinen – Vasilopoulos – Neuvonantaja \/ Special Adviser, as well. <\/p>\n
