The innovation of DNV GL, “Greece as a home market” that it introduced a few years ago, has steadily increased the number and capacity of registered ships, both of better quality and newer. “Thanks to the expanded responsibilities of the DNV Gl office in Piraeus, Greek shipowners can now carry out all their activities directly with our team in Piraeus.” emphasizes Ioannis Chiotopoulos, VP, Regional Manager DNV GL – Maritime, in the interview of maritimestv.<\/p>\n

He talks about the offshore market where DNV GL has significant activity.
It refers to the one year of application of the IMO regulation 2020, the new fuels that come to the fore and answers the dilemma of the choice of engine and consequently which fuel, in the new ship constructions.<\/p>\n

As for the remote inspections, DNV GL started them in 2018 and on a full scale in 2019. “There was no pandemic then and so we did not have to discover the wheel.” Mr. Chiotopoulos emphasizes, pointing out that this means that we are committed to digitization and that we are constantly using new tools.
