“Shipping and technology in general are on the threshold of the fourth technological revolution, which is the digital era” points out Mr. Giorgos Dimopoulos, from the Research and Development department of DNV GL, speaking at maritimes TV, in the context of DNV GL Future of Shipping Forum, which took place at the offices of Hellenic Register of Shipping in Piraeus, on Wednesday 7 December.          

He refers to this department of DNV GL, which focuses on bringing all research fields – that currently occupy the shipping worldwide, to practice and providing consulting services.    

He also stresses that the crisis facing the shipping means more competition and that, technology can be a competitive advantage.
