PPA S.A.: Meeting between CEO Mr. Su Xudong and the Mayor of Piraeus Mr. Yiannis Moralis

09 May 2025 –Τhe CEO of Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.), Mr. Su Xudong, visited Piraeus City Hall and held a conversation with the Mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis upon the begging of the summer season.

The meeting took place in the context of the long-standing and constructive cooperation between PPA S.A. and the Municipality of Piraeus, aimed at promoting and upgrading the port area and the wider urban zone of Piraeus.

During the meeting, the progress of the new Cruise Terminal was discussed, along with the development of the former exhibition center, known as the “Pagoda” building and also the use of eco-friendly buses within the port

Particular emphasis was placed on the new Model Park project, for which the implementation studies have been completed. An open tender for the construction is expected to be announced in the near future.

In addition, reference was made to the progress of the works around the Metro Station near the port, focusing on the restoration of the pedestrian bridge, which is expected to be reopened to the public by early summer.

Both sides affirmed the importance of close cooperation between the city and the port as a driver of sustainable development, urban upgrading, employment enhancement and support for the local community.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue the constructive collaboration for the improvement of citizens’ quality of life and the further development of Piraeus as a modern and sustainable port.
