Maran back for VLCCs
Greece’s Maran Tankers Management has splashed about $200m on two new VLCCs at DSME.

DSME said the price per vessel was $99m. The eco-vessels are 336 metres in length, with fuel-saving engines and technology built in.
TradeWinds reported last week that Maran was in talks with favoured yard DSME to up its tally of VLCC newbuildings there to as many as six from two currently.
The John Angelicoussis-controlled company was set to add two options to the deal.
Maran had initially ordered four VLCCs at DSME at a total price tag of $391m, which is equivalent to $97.8m each.
But two of these were converted last month to LNG newbuildings for affiliated company Maran Gas Maritime.
