This year, DNV GL has released the report entitled “Low Carbon Shipping Towards 2050: Challenges and Opportunities“, which was highly recognized. Based in the Paris Convention on Climate Change in 2015, shipping is expected to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and DNV GL is ready to assist industry in the transition to a future with low-carbon emissions.
In this context, the UN’s objectives for sustainable development, the challenges for the operation of low sulfur and carbon-bearing ships and the transition to 2050 in terms of availability of technology, barriers along potential opportunities were discussed.
