Blessing service for new build ship ‘Neptune Thalassa’
A blessing service for the new build vessel “Neptune Thalassa” was held in Ikonio on Friday in the presence of Shipping Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos and Administrative Reform and e-Government Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as well as the ship’s owner, Neptune Lines Shipping and Managing Enteprises SA Managing Director Melina Travlos.
The ship was delivered in April and has already raised the Greek flag. Four Neptune Lines ships are currently in the Greek register. Neptune Thalassa is a dedicated vehicle carrier that can transport up to 3,500 cars and has a carrying capacity of 31,000 square meters, while it comes equipped with advanced maneuverability characteristics that make it suitable for the short sea shipping trade.
