VELOS-WAR FACILITY

We would like to announce you the line slip on war cover which blue Aigaion has now with various Lloyd’s participating underwriters. The cover has been written by the Velos UK experts on war for full protection of our clients.

Our tailored made policy covers the usual marine war and related perils.

However, in addition, we offer a bespoke Piracy clause, which includes elements of Kidnap & Ransom coverage. Our clause is included within our wording as standard; thus, no requirement is needed for any additional or separate K&R policy. The coverage is also offered under a separate and distinct limit of liability and so unaffected by any claim payments made under the remaining policy sections.

Furthermore, under our P&I clause, we provide extended Crew Liability. This allows for payments in respect to death and personal injury of crew members along with a pre-agreed disability scale of payments in respect of Permanent Total or Permanent Partial Disablement.

Please note our policy has been tested to its maximum within the market, for example, with two Somalian hijackings in 2011 that led to eventual release of the vessel after negotiations and ransom payment. Also, the current handling of the detainment of a client’s vessel in North Africa where necessary parties have been instructed to secure the vessel’s release.

We offer the Velos War wording (as mentioned above) but also have an alternative facility for the well-known Institute War clauses, both at competitive rates.

Lastly, our War facility is supported 100% by Lloyd’s underwriters.
