Gazprom: Starring in major energy projects inside and outside Russia

16.10.2019

Russian company Gazprom continues its operations in and out of Russia successfully and according to a recent announcement constructs gas pipelines to China from Yakutia, Irkutsk, Sakhalin and Krasnoyarsk.

Work is proceeding according to timetables to complete the project in early 2023 from Irkutsk through the Power of Siberia pipeline in all 176 shale gas units.

An important link to the Power of Siberia will be the Amur Gas processing plant, one of the largest in the world.

In addition, the Russian company is working on a production facility on Yamaliya Peninsula. Most of the natural gas distributed across the country comes from this region. The sixth and final compression station is in the final stages of construction.

Nord Stream 2

Welding work is almost complete on the 880km Nord Stream 2 pipeline to be operational this year.

The Nord Stream-2 project involves the construction of two gas pipelines totaling 55 billion cubic meters per year, starting off from Russia’s coastline and ending in Germany. Construction cost is estimated to reach € 9.5 billion, with the pipeline expected to be operational by the end of 2019.

Gazprom’s European partners who are financing 50\% of the project are German companies Uniper and Wintershall, Austrian OMV, French Engie and Anglo-Dutch Shell.

TurkStream is also expected to be operational by the end of 2019.
